On November 1, popular Japanese Yuri news website Yuri Navi released the results from its 5th Yuri Manga Sousenkyo. The annual poll is held among Japanese residents, where readers vote for their favorite Yuri manga series.
Voting took place from October 1 through 7. Respondents were able to choose up to four titles, as well as assign them categories based on their content. The winners from each category and the general election were announced simultaneously. Works were sorted based on the category voting, but all votes for each series counted towards its placing (for example, if 50 people voted a series as a comedy and 60 declared it romance, the series would be placed in the romance category with 110 votes).
Notably, for the first time since the Yuri Manga Sousenkyo began in 2017, Yuri manga Bloom Into You did not win the general election, instead coming in second place. Eku Takashima’s Whisper Me a Love Song overcame the popular series by over 100 votes. Notably, unlike Bloom Into You, Whisper Me a Love Song does not have an anime adaptation.
The winners for each category and the top twenty results from the fifth Yuri Manga Sousenkyo are below. Titles that have been published in English or that are set to be adapted into English are noted with the Publisher. Click on licensed titles to be navigated to an English storefront. Legally buying manga helps support publishers and creators.
b) once burnout hits you CANNOT work that hard, by your standards, so odds are it actually hit a while ago and you just “powered through” because that’s what you’re used to doing. So now, every day, you’re hitting your limit and thinking “wtf man i used to be able to do this, i used to be competent, clever, diligent” and like yeah. you were. and that burns glucose. welcome to the dumb bitch zone.
and c), lmao, me too girl
fuck b) came for me harder than the first post did god damn
Ah, so this person has never hung out with adult gay men irl. I see.
Idk who needs to hear this but queer men and bi women call themselves butch and femme all the time and most of the arguing about who “gets to use” these terms is conducted by terminally online white cisgender teenagers.
Also because I saw someone on tiktok claiming that she/her gay men don’t exist, let me tell you right now that yes they do. In abundance. Now go outside and find one and thank her for her service.
Plus, butch and femme are just as deep and nuanced gender performances when they’re done by mlm as they are when they’re done by wlw. Men do, in fact, get to have complicated relationships with gender!
